Basic Wilderness Survival I n this 3-day class you will learn how to make fire without lighters or matches. You will build a survival shelter that will keep you warm and dry in the coldest weather. We will also introduce you to primitive traps, cordage, flint knapping, edible and medicinal plants, water location and purification, and much more. Class limited to 12 students. Cost is $275.00. Must be at least 18 to attend by yourself. Students ages 12-17 are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Cost of class includes meals. for equipment list. to sign up for this class.Advanced Wilderness Survival (Prerequisite: Basic Wilderness Survival) This class will refine and add to the skills you learned in Basic Wilderness Survival. You will be taught more traps, more tracking skills, and more fire starting methods. You will learn how to field dress wild game and preserve it. You will learn primitive cooking techniques including how to boil water without metal containers. We will introduce you to basketry and pottery. You will learn how to make a survival bow and arrow as well as a fish spear and primitive fishing techniques. Interested in making a primitive sleeping bag? In this class you will be given one of the most important tools of all, real techniques to make you more aware in your environment. As with Basic Wilderness Survival you will be given a lot of hands on training with real life applications. Cost is $275.00. Must be at least 18 to attend by yourself. If you have a group of at least 5 students the rate per student is only $200. We will also reserve a special date for your group. In other words your group will be the only students in the class! Buckskin Making In this 2-day class you will learn how to make a deer hide into a luxurious buckskin. We will take actual hides through the entire process. You will get hands on experience on each step of the process. You will get to take home a finished buckskin! This class is $275 with meals and a hide included. There are no prerequisites for this class. This class is scheduled by appointment. Contact us to set up a date!
